What is Sjogren's Syndrome?
Sjogren's Syndrome is very poorly understood. It is known to be an
autoimmune disease, which means that it's one of a great many poorly
understood diseases -- the conditions that lead to autoimmunity are
not yet well understood. Not only are the root causes of Sjogren's unknown, but there is
not even worldwide agreement on the criteria for diagnosing Sjogren's
Syndrome. Progress is being made, but consensus is elusive.
